DomainIgniter ("we", "our", or "us") operates the DomainIgniter mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account data — name, email address, and password when you register.
- Domain portfolio — domain names, expiry dates, purchase prices, notes, and any other details you add to your portfolio.
- Registrar credentials — API tokens you voluntarily connect to enable registrar sync. These are stored encrypted and never shared.
- Buyer leads — contact names and phone numbers you import via CSV for outreach purposes.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — features used, screens visited, and actions taken within the App, collected via analytics to improve the product.
- Device data — device type, operating system version, app version, and language settings.
- Push notification tokens — used solely to deliver expiry alerts and other in-app notifications you have opted into.
- Crash reports — anonymized error logs to diagnose and fix bugs.
Information we do not collect
- We do not read, store, or process the contents of your WhatsApp messages. Outreach is handled entirely on-device via the WhatsApp app.
- We do not collect payment card details. All billing is managed by Apple App Store or Google Play.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
- Send push notifications for domain expiry alerts and product updates (you can disable these in device settings).
- Sync your domain portfolio with connected registrars on your behalf.
- Respond to support requests and resolve technical issues.
- Analyze aggregate usage patterns to guide product development.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers located in the European Union. We use industry-standard security measures including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
- AES-256 encryption for registrar credentials stored at rest.
- Access controls limiting who can view production data.
- Regular security reviews and dependency updates.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We take reasonable precautions, but cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers — trusted vendors who help us operate the App (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, push notification delivery). They process data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or government authority.
- Business transfer — in the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may transfer to the new entity, which will be bound by this policy.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, or email us. Data is permanently removed within 30 days.
- Portability — request your domain portfolio data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@domainigniter.com.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
DomainIgniter is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Third-Party Links
The App may display links to external services (e.g., registrar websites, App Store). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
